  • Improving muscular strength – Independence begins with good muscular strength and agility. OT sessions are designed to strengthen the areas where the child lacks stamina. It is the first step towards developing skills related to coordination and mobility, like brushing, dressing, cycling, eating, washing, and more.
  • Gross and fine motor skills – Fine motor movements cover all small movements like writing, shoelace typing, locking a door, etc. Gross motor skills include any wide range of motion, like throwing a ball, carrying a large basket, and more. Both these skills are inevitable for an independent life.
  • Improving social skills – OT sessions help children to develop imitation skills, command comprehension, listening skills, and more.
  • Reducing excess energy – Tiring out your child is the most effective way to improve concentration and attention. Certain OT activities are added explicitly to a child’s session to tire him out.
  • Sensory integration – Certain children are irritated/excited in the presence of light/sound/smell/movement/touch. Our OT trainer would determine the sensory need and add required OT activities to satisfy or calm the child.

Common types of OT activities

  1. Fine-motor activities include puzzles, hands-on activities, beads, art therapy, and craft activities.
  2. Gross motor activities include educational games, hopscotch, catching, and obstacle course.
  3. Sensory integration activities include clay modeling, playing with sensory toys, gym balls, and sand/kinetic sand.
  4. Social skill activities like social games, educational games, role-playing, and others.
