A study conducted on the parental prespective of teletherapy showed that 96% of parents were satisfied with the
outcome. 88% of the parents believed that teletherapy should be followed by face-to-face therapy after a few months,
and 90% of the parents accepted that teletherapy is cost-efficient.

You can opt for teletherapy for both speech therapy and remedial education. The therapists use the same materials for both online and offline training to promote continuity. The materials will be presented/shared online so the child will have visual and auditory input.

Parental involvement is imperative beyond switching on the computer and connecting the call. Since the therapist cannot physically engage the child, having a parent/guardian present throughout the call is best.

A: Speech and Language Therapy and Remedial Education are available through teletherapy. Group Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, OT, Yoga Therapy, and other classes are not available via teletherapy.

Q3: Can I choose platforms other than Google Meet?

A: Google Meet is more accessible in terms of sharing/presenting materials and readily available on all devices without the need for the download of additional software.

Q4: What if the child does not look at the screen?

A: Yes, there is a possibility that the child does not engage in online classes at all. If so, we recommend continuing with offline classes.
